Transfer Intelligence Airport Transfers Car Hire vs. Ski Transfer Comparison

Here we have produced a like-for-like comparison for a family of four arriving at Geneva airport and spending a week in Brides les Bains during the 2008/2009 ski season both pre booking in advance.

Car Hire with well known car hire company, with desk at Geneva Airport:
• Estate car suitable for 4 passengers
• Road tax for Swiss roads
• Ski rack
• Snow tyres (no chains)
• One baby seat
• One booster seat
• One GPS to avoid getting lost
• Petrol for 350 km round trip
• Toll roads

Total cost €597

Private ski transfer with Transfer Intelligence
• Minibus comfortable for 4 passengers plus driver
• Road tax for Swiss roads
• Ski rack
• Snow tyres
• Snow chains
• Security vest & triangle (French legal requirement)
• One baby seat
• One booster seat
• One GPS
• Petrol for 350 km round trip
• Toll roads
• Experienced & reliable driver

Total cost €568

This was real comparison conducted on the 31st of October 2008, using a online car quote and viaMichelin for petrol and toll costs.

Obviously these services are different in many ways, but considering the average holidaymaker is not experienced in driving on foreign alpine roads and the fact that a car in a ski resort is more likely to be a burden than an asset, then we can come to the conclusion that a private ski transfer is the most effective solution both financially and practically.
